What sanitization algorithms does IQValidate support?
IQValidate offers single-pass and multi-pass overwrite methods, including one that follows the NIST SP 800-88 Clear approach (Clear means overwriting the drive with ordinary write commands). Each certificate states the method used and the check done afterwards. You choose the method when you start a wipe.
How does the agent work? Does it require internet access?
The agent runs on Windows and Linux computers. It connects to your account over the internet, so wipes start from the website, progress shows live, and certificates are made from the results it reports.
Can I use IQValidate for my R2 or NAID certification audits?
IQValidate gives you the records an auditor will ask to see: certificates of erasure and destruction, chain of custody and work order history. Certification belongs to your organization and its auditors, and we do not certify you or promise an audit outcome.
What types of storage devices are supported?
The agent works with the drives your computer can see, including hard drives and solid-state drives. Today it overwrites them and records Clear. Using a drive's own erase command is rolling out with agent support, and a wipe is recorded as Purge only when that command ran and the checks afterwards passed. An overwrite may not reach every area of a solid-state drive, so follow your own policy for those.
How long does it take to get started?
Sign up, download the agent, install it on a computer, and start a wipe from the website. You can set your organization details, logo and signer in Settings. Questions? Use the contact page.
